Amber has been known to accelerate our natural immune system’s ability to heal wounds and reduces inflammation in the ears, throat, stomach and respiratory system.

How should I care for the necklace?

You should remove and clean the necklace regularly. Using a cloth gently wipe clean each individual bead of Amber. The necklace can be rinsed in clean spring water (no chlorine, detergents). Drying in the sun is recommended as it’s been documented sunshine can help the beads energy, and amber looks great in the sunlight. You should remove the necklace before swimming or bathing. The necklace can get wet but the chemicals in a bath and pool and also soaps and bathroom products may harm the strength of the thread. Using a light application of olive oil on a clean cloth and wiping each bead can bring back the shine and lustre.

How are they made?

Every natural Baltic Amber necklace is unique because each of the amber beads is unique. So the size, colour, and shape of each stone as well as the length of the necklace will vary slightly. Lithuanian amber artisans with generations of experience lovingly hand-crafted our necklaces. The beads are carefully polished and softly rounded so it rests gently against the skin. This ensures maximum skin contact and comfort. The string in each of our amber necklaces and bracelets is knotted in between each and every bead. Our amber products do not use metals or similar materials that can irritate the skin or impede the natural healing process of our amber necklaces especially since some people can be allergic to metals.  Click here to view a BLOG post on 'How Amber Necklaces Are Made'

What is the composition of amber?

Formed over 45 million years ago, Baltic amber is an organic substance, a “fossil resin” produced by pine trees, which grew in Northern Europe - from southern regions of the present day Scandinavia and nearby regions of the bed of the Baltic Sea. The climate became warmer and trees started to exude big amounts of resin. Scientists say that amber is a fossil pine resin from this region that has achieved a stable state through oxidation. Amber consists of 79% carbon, 10.5%hydrogen and 10.5% oxygen.
